The Connectivity layer used has a drop list in the company setup and one can simply choose an alternative database driver.
Firebird is the most outstanding of the choices, and has recently been adopted as our database of choice.
Clients who go against our recommendations and choose MySQL will be asked to go to www.mysql.com and download MySQL from there. These clients accept full responsibility for the Database, its maintenance, upgrades and licensing.
